Back in the early days when Search For A Cure got rolling, there was a much more aggressive national activist and community movement demanding investment in the development of therapies and care for HIV.  In the treatment era we have not yet had and are in need of the same kind of energy behind a movement for the prevention of HIV, though the development of new and improved therapies for treatment are still of paramount concern.  Search hopes to reinvigorate the energy we used to have behind our Reasons For Hope article series which was a national publication that brought the cutting edge of medicine to the community in plain English.  We hope to begin with a question and answer series to inform the public and ourselves as to the status of the management, care, and prevention of HIV today.

Cytolin - a monoclonal antibody therapy for HIV?

In 2009 Search For A Cure conducted an investigation into a monoclonal antibody called Cytolin which seemed to have some precedent warranting further research.  Dr. Eric Rosenberg of Massachusetts General Hospital was convinced enough to perform some in vitro examination of the antibody in his laboratory.  In 2010, Search hosted an informational meeting at AIDS Project Los Angeles at which we promised to update our friends and colleagues in the community as to the status of this research.  Following is an article update including an interview with Dr. Rosenberg as to the current status of his research.
